Ghostbusting equipment

Buy your Ghostbusting equipment for $229.95

TRIFIELD METER (Model N.E.M.) Free Shipping!

Designed expressly for use in paranormal investigation, this amazingly sensitive device has become the favorite portable instrument of researchers around the world. In the Magnetic setting, the unit has a sensitivity of 2.5 milliguass, which is less than 0.5% of the earth's field. In the Electric setting, it has a sensitivity of 3 volts-per-meter, which is well below the level at which static electricity (10,000 volts-per-meter) forms. This setting will alert the investigator to the earliest stages of paranormal manifestation. For instance, the formation of a cold spot of only 0.1 degree Fahrenheit less than ambient temperature requires 40 billion times more energy than this meter's base sensitivity. Obviously, the meter can detect changes in electrical potential long before they become obvious to people. It will even detect approaching thunderstorms and the presence of a person behind a wall. Just having someone "zap" the unit with their hands from a distance will set off the audible alarm. The alarm tone is proportional to the amount of change in the field and can be set for any desired threshold. The unit also measures radio and microwave waves from 100 khz to 3 ghz in milliwatts of energy. For example, leakage over 0.2 millwatts around your microwave oven door is above the acceptable industry safety standard. In the Sum position, the instrument constantly measures all of these fields and sounds an alarm if any of the fields increase or decrease. Therefore, the unit can be left on and serve as bedside alarm or used for on-site passive monitoring. Retails for $229.95. Special reduced price for visitors to the Haunted Places website: $199.95. This is a new product direct from the manufacturer. Item # NEM3. ORDER FORM. To order online with Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal

http://www.haunted-places.com/ghostbusting_equipment.htm

Hoje acordei com uma musica de Fad Gadget na cabeça, o "pedestrian". Decidi então fazer este post:

Recordem:
Frank Tovey - aka: Fad Gadget
R.I.P
08.09.1956 - 03.04.2002

From the Oficial Fad Gadget site :

"He will be best remembered as one of the Electronic pioneers who, alongside Human League, Cabaret Voltaire and The Normal, were at the forefront of the Electronic Movement of the late '70s/early '80s.

Fad Gadget was the first signing to the Mute label with the release of his debut single, the ground breaking 'Back To Nature' in October 1979. Recorded using a drum machine and synthesiser, a string of classic singles followed including 'Ricky's Hand', 'Fireside Favourites' and 'Collapsing New People'. A truly unique artist, his live shows were legendary and quickly established Frank Tovey as one of the most exciting acts around. The shows often ended with Frank injuring himself from his intense performance. He recently toured Europe with label mates Depeche Mode on the Exciter tour and was working on new material at the time of his death. "

Para todos os que desconhecem a sua obra, sugere-se:

ALBUM 12 (MUTE)
The Best Of Fad Gadget:

CD 1
1. Immortal Memory
8. Paradise Lost
9. I Asked for Love
10. Psallit in Aure Dei

Release notes at 4ad

"Immortal Memory

The first all-new studio album by Lisa Gerrard for more than five years is released on January 26th 2004.

"Immortal Memory" is the bewitching product of Lisa's collaboration with the award-winning Irish composer Patrick Cassidy, who she met in Los Angeles while working on the soundtrack for "Gladiator".

"Music is a place to go to take refuge," says Lisa. "It's a sanctuary from mediocrity and boredom. It's innocent, and it's a place you can lose yourself in thoughts and memories and intricacies."

Her words perfectly describe "Immortal Memory" - it's a transcendent, hymnal collection of music which, as you would expect from Lisa, draws on a global variety of musical influences, literary inspirations and mythical traditions. It's a timeless record that takes the listener on a memorable journey as the ten tracks trace a cycle of life, death and rebirth, commencing with Lisa's interpretation of the ancient Irish poem "The Song Of Amergin - which she sings in ancient Gaelic - and ending with the stately beauty of the memorial song "Psallit In Aure Dei". Elsewhere, Lisa and Patrick draw on the poetry of WB Yeats (in "Sailing To Byzantium") and of the Bible - "Abwoon" is an arrangement of "The Lord's Prayer", sung in Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus. "

http://www.lisagerrard.com/

http://www.4ad.com/

They cautioned against moving or desecrating the corpses under threat of extreme harm.

"WILL AND TESTAMENT" refers to the last wishes of the dead who have been taken to their graves under unnatural circumstances.

The concert material that Galás has included in this song cycle includes music set to the texts of the Armenian poet/soldier Siamanto; the Belgian/French poet Henri Michaux; the Syrian/Lebanese poet Adonis; the rembetika songs of Sotiria Bellou; the Anatolian Greek Amanedhes; the blues music of the American musicians Boise Sturdevant and Blind Lemon Jefferson, and the sacred songs of the Deep South. A new addition to the song cycle is a striking piece written by Galás called "The World Has Gone Up In Flames", which premiered at Royce Hall (UCLA) November 2001. Galás warns that, even in death, those that were chosen to die have not been defeated nor are they forgotten. "My death is written in a rock that cannot be broken."

The work is concerned with the poet/author living in exile, away from his homeland. DEFIXIONES, WILL AND TESTAMENT speaks for individuals who have had to live as outlaws, as they were treated as outlaws; and for those who have had to create houses out of rock.

DEFIXIONES, WILL AND TESTAMENT is dedicated to the forgotten and erased of the Armenian, Assyrian, and Anatolian Greek genocides which occurred between 1914 and 1923.

http://www.diamandagalas.com/defixiones/

Diamanda Galas / La Serpenta Canta
Label: Mute

DISC A

Ain't No Grave Can Hold My Body Down
Burning Hell
Baby’s Insane
I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry
Lonely Woman
Frenzy

DISC B

Blue Spirit Blues
My World Is Empty Without You
I Put A Spell on You
At the Dark End of the Street
Dancing in the Dark
Dead Cat on the Line
See That My Grave Is Kept Clean
Burning Hell (Reprise)

La Serpenta Canta aka The Serpent Sings, is a song recital recruiting blues, R&B, Motown, southern soul, Country & Western and her own "Baby's Insane" (from This Sporting Life, her duo album with John Paul Jones) in Galás's ongoing campaign against forgetting.

A highly inventive composer and pianist, Galás's compelling low end piano settings draw on her background in free jazz – overtly acknowledged in La Serpenta Canta's version of Ornette Coleman's "Lonely Woman" – modern composition and the electronic avant garde. Bonded by Blind Lemon Jefferson's "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean", which features on both sets, Defixiones and La Serpenta Canta variously illuminate, extend and support each other's ways of grieving. With songs like James Carr's deep soul classic "Dark End Of The Street" (covered earlier on her duo album with John Paul Jones), Hank Williams's "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" and Screaming Jay Hawkins's "I Put A Spell On You" bookended with John Lee Hooker's "Burning Hell", La Serpenta Canta may start in a familiar place but Galás's vocal methods of interrogating the popular memory of such songs examines each word and note from every angle, in the process reinvesting them with the full weight of meaning and emotion that might have been hitherto eroded through familiarity. The Supremes' "My World Is Empty Without You" – which Galás first assayed on her 1998 song cycle Malediction And Prayer – has never before sounded so desolate as in her sounding of its abyssal depths here. The songwriting team Holland-Dozier-Holland might have conceived it as a lovers' breakup song, but in Galás's reading, "My World Is Empty Without You" serves as a portal to both La Serpenta's darker companion, Defixiones, Will And Testament, and, indeed, the entire canon of mourning music that Galás has amassed since her 1979 international debut in a French staging of composer Globokar's Un Jour Comme Une Autre.

http://www.diamandagalas.com/serpenta/
